Reservation fees held and finance reporting

Booking reservation fees and finance reporting work together to give you an honest picture of your clinic's money.

Reservation fees held

When a patient pays a booking reservation fee, that value is held against them until their treatment happens. A held reservation fee is money you have received but not yet earned, so it is tracked separately from completed income. This matters because counting unearned reservation fees as revenue would flatter your figures.

Finance reporting

The finance area shows what you have taken over a period, broken down so you can see the shape of your income. Because booking reservation fees are tracked as held until the treatment is delivered, your reported revenue reflects work actually done, not just money sitting in the wallet.

Using the reports

  • Check income over a chosen period to see how the clinic is performing.
  • See reservation fees held so you know how much of your balance is committed to future appointments.
  • See discounts given this month, totalled and split by reason, so discretionary money off (model rates, goodwill) is visible apart from your marketing codes.
  • Reconcile against Stripe payouts and your bank with confidence, because the records match how the money behaves.

For the clinical-and-compliance angle on your numbers, see the validation report article.
