Choosing the right role for each team member
Every team member has one of four roles, chosen when you invite them from Settings > Team. The role controls what they can do, so it is worth choosing deliberately.
The four roles
- Owner. The clinic's admin. Owners are the only role that can manage billing, the team, integrations, memberships, reviews moderation, campaigns and the other business settings.
- Practitioner. The everyday clinical role: their own diary, patients, treatment records, forms and shifts.
- Prescriber. A practitioner who is also flagged as able to approve prescriptions. Prescribing rights are a separate flag on the staff record, shown in the Prescriber column of the Staff table, so a clinic can see at a glance who can approve.
- Reception. The front-desk role for running the diary and patients day to day, without access to the business side. Reception seats are free; they do not count towards your subscription.
Inviting someone with a role
On the Team page, use Invite a team member: enter their email, pick Practitioner, Prescriber or Reception from the Role dropdown, and press Send invitation. They get a link to create their account already joined to your clinic. Pending invitations are listed below with a Copy link button (handy if the email goes astray) and a Cancel button. Prefer not to email? The Or share a code section gives per-role codes they can enter at /register.
Choosing well
Give people the least role that does their job. Most clinics need exactly one owner; a second owner is only worth it if someone else genuinely runs the business side with you. Note that the owner role itself cannot be handed out by invite.
