Issuing and redeeming gift vouchers

Gift vouchers are prepaid value a patient can spend against a booking, ideal for someone treating a friend or family member.

Issuing a voucher

1. Go to Settings > Offers and find Issue a gift voucher.
2. Enter the Value, and optionally an expiry date, the purchaser's name, the recipient's name and any notes.
3. Press Issue voucher. A code in the form GV-XXXXXX is generated automatically; give this to the purchaser.

Take the purchaser's money as you would any sale and record it. The voucher itself is the record of the value owed.

How redemption works

The recipient enters the voucher code at booking, in the same Have a promo or voucher code? field used for promo codes. The voucher's balance is drawn down against the amount due at booking. If the balance covers only part of it, the remainder is paid by card as normal; if it covers all of it, the voucher balance simply reduces and no card payment is needed for that amount.

Keeping track

The vouchers table on Settings > Offers shows each voucher's remaining balance against its original value, the recipient, its status (active, redeemed or cancelled) and expiry. An active voucher can be cancelled from the same row if it was issued in error.
