Audit trail

The audit trail records the significant actions taken in your clinic, so you can always see who did what and when.

What it captures

Meaningful changes are logged: edits to patient records, treatments recorded, forms signed, prescriptions moving through their stages, and similar actions. Each entry carries who did it and when, building a tamper-evident history of your clinic's activity.

Why it matters

  • Accountability. In a clinic with several team members, you can see exactly who made a change.
  • Compliance. Regulators and insurers expect a clear record of clinical activity. The audit trail provides it without extra effort.
  • Confidence. If a question ever arises about a record, you can reconstruct what happened from the trail.

How to think about it

You do not have to maintain the audit trail; it is built up automatically as you work. Its value shows up in the moments you need it: an insurance query, a complaint, or simply confirming who updated a patient's allergy alert. Working normally is enough to keep it complete.
