Aftercare advice and the post-treatment check-in

Two messages look after the patient once their treatment is done. Both are clinical care rather than marketing, so they send whether or not the patient has opted in to marketing.

Aftercare advice (just after the appointment)

Shortly after the appointment ends, the patient is emailed a Read button for each aftercare form linked to their treatment, so they know exactly how to look after the treated area.

This message only fires when the appointment is marked completed and the treatment (or its service category) has an aftercare form set to send after treatment. No aftercare form linked means nothing is sent, so set your aftercare forms up per treatment first. It still works if you mark appointments completed in a batch at the end of the day, or even the next morning.

Post-treatment check-in (about 48 hours later)

Around two days after the appointment, the patient gets a short "how are you getting on?" message, by email and by text where they have a phone number. It invites them to get in touch if anything is on their mind, which surfaces concerns early and shows the level of care patients remember.

Editing and switching off

Both live under Settings > Messaging in the Reminders and aftercare section. Edit the wording with placeholders, or untick Send automatically to switch either off. Aftercare is email only, because the advice sits behind a form link that belongs in an email.

Each appointment receives each message at most once.
