Getting forms signed in clinic
Patients do not always complete forms at home. When someone arrives with an outstanding consent or medical history, you can get it signed on the spot; no patient login or email is needed.
A form you have already sent
- Open the patient's record and go to Forms & documents.
- Any form that is not yet completed has a Sign in clinic button.
- Choose how to hand it over: Open on this device opens the form in a new tab so you can pass a tablet or reception device to the patient, or the patient can scan the QR code with their phone camera and sign on their own phone.
A new form, signed on the day
- On the patient's record choose Send a form and pick the form.
- Choose Sign in clinic as the delivery option. No email is sent.
- The next screen gives you the same choices: open on this device, QR code, or copy the link.
Good practice
- The QR code is usually the smoothest option: the patient signs on their own phone and never needs to hold a clinic device.
- If you hand over a clinic device, hand it over with the form already open, and take it back when they finish. The form page itself never exposes anything beyond that one form.
- The signed form lands on the patient's record immediately, exactly as if they had completed it at home.
