Prescriptions and the face-to-face rule
Some treatments need a prescription before product can be supplied. AesthetiClinic handles the request, approval and supply of prescriptions, within the rules.
The prescription flow
A prescription moves through clear stages:
- Requested. A practitioner requests a prescription for a patient.
- Approved. A qualified prescriber reviews and approves it. Only team members marked as prescribers can do this.
- Sent. Once approved, the prescription is sent on for supply.
Each stage is recorded, so there is a full trail of who requested, who approved, and when.
The face-to-face rule
For injectable treatments, the prescriber must assess the patient face to face before prescribing. This is a professional and regulatory requirement, not merely a preference, and it exists to protect patients.
Why we do not offer remote signing
Some tools let a prescriber approve injectable prescriptions remotely, without seeing the patient. We deliberately do not offer that. Building a slick remote-signing flow would encourage practice that falls short of the face-to-face standard. We would rather support you in doing it properly than make it easy to cut a corner that puts patients, and your registration, at risk.
