Prescriptions and the face-to-face rule

Some treatments need a prescriber to approve them before product is used. AesthetiClinic holds the request and the prescriber's signed sign-off against the patient.

The prescription flow

1. Requested. A practitioner raises a request for a patient, with the items and the clinical justification. The system attempts to email the named clinic prescriber a link; external prescribers are not emailed.
2. Approved. The prescriber signs in, confirms they have assessed the patient face to face, enters the consultation date and their registration number, and signs. This requires clinical access and prescribing status, and you must be the named prescriber or a prescribing clinic owner.
3. External prescribers. They consult and sign outside AesthetiClinic. A prescriber or clinic owner with clinical access records the approval, and your clinic retains the signed original.

The signed record stays on the patient, alongside their allergies, which the request page shows the prescriber before they sign. AesthetiClinic does not send anything to a pharmacy: your prescriber raises the prescription itself in their own pharmacy system, and what we hold is the sign-off evidencing their assessment and approval.

Each stage is recorded, so you can read the stored request, approval and decline details. An imported approval is labelled as source metadata, and missing details remain unrecorded; the page does not independently verify the original approval. The consultation date must be today or within the previous 30 UTC calendar days, and can be earlier than the request date.

The face-to-face rule

The approval form requires you to confirm a face-to-face consultation for this treatment before it can be saved. The declaration records what you confirm; it does not independently verify the consultation.

Why we do not offer remote signing

The approval form has no alternative that lets you approve without confirming a face-to-face consultation. External approvals require the same confirmation from the person recording them.
