Low-stock warnings and retail products
Two small pieces of setup make the Stock page much more useful day to day: low-stock thresholds and retail flags.
Low-stock thresholds
Give each product a Low-stock threshold when you add it, for example 2 vials. The product's level badge then changes colour with its state: green when healthy, amber once it falls to the threshold, and red at zero or below. The Low stock card at the top of the Stock page counts how many products currently need reordering, so a glance at the page tells you whether an order is due.
Retail items
Tick Retail item on products you sell to patients, such as skincare, and record their Cost and Retail price. Retail products show their price in the products table, and the Retail items card at the top counts them. Retail sales appear in the movements log with the reason sold.
Reading the summary cards
- Stocked products: how many active products you track.
- Low stock: how many are at or below their threshold.
- Retail items: how many are flagged for resale.
Tips
- Set thresholds from your reorder lead time: if delivery takes a week, the threshold should cover a week's usage.
- Recording cost as well as price lets you see your margin at a glance when reviewing retail lines.
