Doing a stock take

A stock take reconciles what the system thinks you hold against what is actually on the shelf. Levels drift through breakages, samples and small errors, so a regular count keeps your figures honest.

Running a count

  1. Go to Stock and press Stock take.
  2. You get a table of every active product with its Expected level, and a Counted column pre-filled with the expected number.
  3. Count the shelf and change only the numbers that differ.
  4. Add optional Notes about the count, then press Save stock take.

What happens

For every product where the counted figure differs from the expected one, the system creates an adjusting movement so your levels now match reality. The confirmation tells you how many adjusting movements were created; if everything matched, none are needed.

Previous takes

Below the count form, Previous takes lists every stock take with its date, who did it, any notes and the total variance (negative in red, positive in green). Expand a take to see the line-by-line detail: expected, counted and the difference for each product.

Good habits

  • Pick a rhythm (monthly works for most clinics) and stick to it.
  • Investigate repeated negative variances on the same product; the previous-takes history makes patterns easy to spot.
