Chair-side signing on a device in clinic

Not every form is completed at home. When a patient is in front of you, the same form link works chair-side: open it on a tablet or phone and hand the device over. There is also a public guide to chair-side signing on our website if you want the fuller walkthrough to share with your team.

The in-clinic flow

  1. Open the patient's record and click Send a form in the Forms section.
  2. Choose the form. If the patient is with you, you can untick Send by email.
  3. When the request is created, click Copy link.
  4. Open the link on the device you will hand to the patient. The form greets them by name, they answer the questions, sign in the signature box, type their full name and submit.

The completed, signed form lands on their record immediately, tied to the exact version they saw.

Marking a form as in-clinic

In the form editor, under Settings, each form has a Signature site: Remote, In clinic or Anywhere. Use it to record your policy for each form, for example that treatment consent is always signed in clinic on the day, while medical history can be done remotely in advance.

No email needed

Chair-side signing works even for patients with no email address on file: the send screen simply tells you to share the link manually, which in clinic means opening it yourself.
