Offering Klarna and Clearpay at deposit checkout
You can let patients pay their booking deposit with Klarna or Clearpay instead of a card. For higher-value deposits, spreading the cost removes a real barrier to booking.
What you need first
Buy now, pay later runs through your connected Stripe account, so Stripe must be connected first. The Stripe card at the top of Settings > Integrations shows your connection status; if it is not yet connected, start there.
Turning it on
- Go to Settings > Integrations (owners only) and find the Buy now, pay later card under Payments.
- Tick Klarna, Clearpay or both.
- Press Save.
One extra step lives outside AesthetiClinic: the payment method must also be enabled on your own Stripe account (Stripe's payment method settings). Ticking it here adds the option to your checkout; Stripe has to agree to process it.
What patients see
Once enabled, the deposit checkout on your booking page offers Klarna or Clearpay alongside card. Note Klarna requires a minimum of around £1, so it will not appear for token deposits below that.
How the money behaves
Both settle like card payments: you receive the full deposit through Stripe as normal, and the instalment arrangement is between the patient and Klarna or Clearpay. From your side, the deposit is simply paid, and it flows into your finance records like any other online payment.
