Automatic aftercare after a treatment
Treatment-specific aftercare advice can land in the patient's inbox automatically once their appointment is over, with no admin from you.
What you need in place
Two things, both one-off setup:
- An Aftercare form whose automation is set to After treatment (in the form editor under Settings), with a published version. Build the advice itself from information blocks.
- The form linked to the treatment. Go to Settings > Treatments, open the treatment and tick the form under Forms to complete before this treatment, or tick it once at category level under Forms for this whole category to cover every treatment in that category.
How the send works
Shortly after the appointment ends, and once it is marked completed, the patient is emailed a link to the aftercare form. It goes by email only, and it needs an email address on the patient's record. If a treatment has no aftercare form linked, nothing is sent, so the feature is silent until you switch it on per treatment.
Each appointment only ever gets one aftercare send, so there is no risk of the patient being nagged twice.
Why link it to the treatment?
Because aftercare is treatment-specific. Lip filler aftercare and skin peel aftercare are different documents, and linking each form to its treatment means every patient gets the right advice for what they actually had done.
